There are three isomers: ortho-xylene (o-xylene), meta-xylene (m-xylene), and para-xylene (p-xylene). These differ in the positions of the two methyl groups attached to the benzene ring. It’s commonly used as a solvent in paints, coatings, adhesives, and in the chemical industry to make things like plastics and synthetic fibers.  Colorless, sweet-smelling, and flammable.
